1. Muncie Firefighters have made concessions in the current contract saving the taxpayers approximately 2.4 millions dollars.
2. We have dropped a grievance against the City back in August 2007 with a potential savings to the City of approximately $100,000.
3. Muncie Firefighters have actively been involved with searching for and writing grants to buy needed equipment for the Department saving the City money.
4. Muncie Firefighters provide a rapid response to your homes and businesses for both fire and medical emergencies over 6,000 times per year.
5. Muncie Firefighters are also trained to not only respond to fire and medical emergencies but are also trained to respond to other emergencies that might affect you,
including, but not limited to: Swift Water Emergencies, High Angle Emergencies, Confined Space Emergencies, Hazardous Material Responses, Vehicle Rescue Emergencies,
and other emergencies you might encounter.
6. It takes approximately 10% of your tax dollars to fund the ENTIRE Fire Department.
7. Muncie Firefighters are involved in numerous events and charities that helps this city and its' citizens, including, but not limited to: Toys for Tots, Real Life, Special Olympics, The Red Cross
and numerous others.
